Guided Meditation and Relaxation Audios

For most of us, stress, uncertainty, anxiety and worry have exponentially increased with the pandemic.  Because we mold to every experience, reducing the impact of those emotional states and finding effective coping strategies is of utmost importance. The Mind and Heart Lab provides a series of guided audios for calming stress and developing emotional balance.  Each audio is approximately 25-30  minutes in length, a perfect length of time to fully engage in relaxing and re-charging. Included in this time is an introduction and guided practice; however, feel free to skip the introduction when you repeat the practices. It is best to have an interrupted, quiet place and time to fully engage in the practices.  Most have a video component, however the vast majority of people that use these practices do so with their eyes closed - the video component is only added to help you relax into the meditation, if you so choose to use it.

​These meditations help you develop resilience and emotional calm by training your affect.  The term 'affect' pertains to your presenting emotional state, and it can be trained to help you live more positively.  In other words, the more you engage in life-generating, or positive emotional states the more those become your baseline, or primary way of being.  These audios are designed to train your affect to enhance your emotional resilience.  The acronym HEART stands for heartful emotion affect regulation training.  The HEART meditations included in this set are designed to train your capacity to live from life-generating emotional states.  They are specifically designed, through scientific research, for relaxing, recharging and rebalancing your emotional system.  There is a wide variety of audio selections from which to choose, all have the purpose of intentionally cultivating healing and healthy emotional states, and each has a specific emphasis in emotional wellbeing. They can be used to accompany the program in Unstressed, by Dr. Alane Daugherty.  Several of the practices have companion written activities that help you go deeper into the practice.  They will be identified in the practice introduction and can be accessed HERE.
